1. Introduction

SkyCredit Pty Ltd (referred to in this document as "SkyCredit", "we", "us", or "our") is the operator of skycredit.com.au (the "Site"). We take the privacy of our users seriously and are fully committed to meeting our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 of that legislation.

This Privacy Policy sets out the types of personal information we may collect, our reasons for collecting it, how it is handled and shared, and the rights available to you regarding that information. Continued use of the Site following your review of this policy indicates your acceptance of its terms.

2. Information We May Collect

The Site is built so that visitors can browse without registering or submitting any personal details. That said, some information may be gathered in the following ways:

Automatically collected data - when you visit the Site, our systems and analytics tools may record technical and behavioural data such as the pages you view, search terms you use, your device's IP address, browser type, operating system, and the URL from which you arrived.

Direct correspondence - if you reach out to us at info@skycredit.com.au, we will retain your name, email address, and the contents of your message in order to respond to you.

Cookies and tracking - we deploy cookies and related tracking technologies to better understand how visitors engage with the Site. Further information is available in Section 6 below.

We do not collect sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act (for example, health records, financial account credentials, or information about racial or ethnic background) through this Site.

3. Purposes for Collection

We collect and use personal information only as reasonably necessary for the following purposes:

  • Running, maintaining, and enhancing the Site and its features
  • Analysing user behaviour to identify opportunities to improve the experience we offer
  • Responding to messages and enquiries sent to us directly
  • Fulfilling any obligations imposed on us by law

We will not use your information for secondary purposes unless you have given consent, or a relevant exception under the Privacy Act applies.

4. Sharing Your Information

SkyCredit does not sell, lease, or otherwise trade personal information. We may share information with carefully selected third-party service providers who support the operation of the Site, including:

  • Analytics and tag management - to monitor and understand Site usage. Processing may occur outside of Australia.
  • Hosting and infrastructure - to store and deliver the Site and its underlying data. Processing may occur outside of Australia.
  • Content delivery - to ensure the Site loads reliably for users. Processing may occur outside of Australia.

Each provider is engaged solely for the purpose described and is not permitted to use personal information for any unrelated reason.

We may also share information where we are compelled by law, or where we have a genuine belief that disclosure is necessary to meet a legal obligation, defend our rights, or prevent harm to any person.

5. International Transfers

Certain service providers we work with are based in countries outside Australia, including the United States. In such cases, we take reasonable steps to ensure those parties handle personal information in a manner consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8 and the broader requirements of the Privacy Act, including relying on contractual safeguards where appropriate.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed within jurisdictions that may not have data protection frameworks equivalent to Australia's. Where such transfers occur, we act reasonably to put appropriate protections in place.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site - including through tools such as Google Tag Manager - to gather usage data and refine the user experience. Cookies are small files that are placed on your device when you visit a website.

You are free to adjust your browser's settings to block or flag cookies. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Site.

7. How We Protect Your Information

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect the personal information we hold against misuse, loss, interference, and unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. The Site operates over HTTPS and is hosted on reputable cloud infrastructure.

We cannot, however, guarantee that any method of transmission or storage over the internet is entirely free from risk. While we do our best to protect your data, absolute security cannot be assured.

8. Your Rights: Access and Correction

The Privacy Act gives you the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or otherwise misleading. Requests of this kind should be directed to us at info@skycredit.com.au.

We will handle your request within a reasonable timeframe in line with our legal obligations, and may ask you to verify your identity before providing access. There may be limited circumstances where we are unable to fulfil a request, and we will explain our reasons if that is the case.

9. Raising a Concern

If you have reason to believe that we have not handled your personal information appropriately, please contact us at info@skycredit.com.au. We will look into your concern and respond accordingly.

10. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. Any updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to check back periodically. Your ongoing use of the Site after a revision is posted will be taken as acceptance of the changes.
